PANGI VALLEY

overview

At a height of about 3000 metres, this little wonder of Pangi Valley offers some breathtaking mountain vistas. The sight of hundreds of cattle grazing on the broad meadows is a sight not to be missed. You pass by a lot of equally stunning homes and little settlements along the way. Sural Bhatori—the last village in the Sural Valley—is situated 22 kilometres from Killar town. There are Bhotia People who dwell there, as the name suggests (Buddhists of Tibetan descent). The most important monastery in Pangi Valley is also located there; it is hidden away in a forest of Himalayan Birch (Bhojpatra) trees.
